Sumba Luxury Tour is a guided-tour brand of Juara Holding Group, operated by the Indonesia Juara Trip reservations team. We plan and run private 3- to 8-day Sumba circuits: one licensed guide, one 4×4, and lodge nights sequenced across West, Southwest, Central and East Sumba. Lodges and stables are independent partners; every total is a quote until verified.
Who is behind Sumba Luxury Tour Indonesia?
Juara Holding Group is the publisher: it owns the brand and sets the content and pricing standards on these pages.
Indonesia Juara Trip is the operator. Its reservations team answers the WhatsApp line, drafts itineraries, confirms lodge availability, assigns guide and vehicle, and takes payment. Your contract is with Indonesia Juara Trip.
Neither entity is a resort owner, a stable owner, an airline, or a licensed financial, legal or tax adviser. We arrange; we do not own the beds or the horses.
How does the private guide, 4×4 and lodge model work?
Most Sumba packages start with a hotel and bolt on day trips. Ours start with the road.
- One licensed guide stays with you from the arrival gate at Tambolaka (TMC) or Waingapu (WGP) to departure. Guides work under Law No. 18 of 2025, in force since 29 October 2025, and Regulation 6/2025, which tightened licensing and adventure-safety standards.
- One private 4×4 with driver. Standard-comfort and luxury tiers (the luxury tier with cooler box and onboard Wi-Fi) are quoted on request for your dates, duration, group size and inclusions. Land prices include the vehicle; the tier is stated on your quote.
- Lodge nights sequenced by region. A 6D5N west-to-east circuit might place two nights in Wanokaka, one on the Kodi coast and two near Waingapu. A newly paved highway now crosses the island in under four hours (2026 Lombok-Sumba-Sumbawa investment report); every drive time here is indicative.

Wings Air and NAM Air fly Bali-Tambolaka daily in roughly 90 minutes; TransNusa’s direct Denpasar-Waingapu service, announced June 2026, lets East Sumba circuits skip the overland transfer. Schedules change; we never print departure times.
What do the tours cost, and what is left out on purpose?
Land prices are land-only: guide, 4×4 with driver, fuel and the day programme. They are quoted on request for your dates, duration, group size and inclusions.

A “from” figure here is never a package total; the total appears once, on your written quote, after the lodge confirms availability and rate.
Who owns the lodges, horses and vehicles?
Not us.
NIHI Sumba, Lelewatu, Cap Karoso, Maringi Eco Resort and the boutique villas we use are independent, separately licensed businesses. Listing a property here does not make it a partner for your dates; availability is confirmed per booking and its own terms apply. NIHI runs its own equine programme, including the Spa Safari, under its own rules.
Horses come from local stables or the lodge’s programme; vehicles from vetted, licensed transport partners. A partner’s rule wins over anything written here.
What is the honesty policy on prices and dates?
- Every figure carries a date. “As of August 2026” means exactly that.
- Land-only is labelled land-only. No figure that excludes lodge nights is presented as a trip cost.
- Future dates are estimates. Pasola runs each February and March; Rato ritual priests set the dates after the Nyale sea-worm readings, usually one to two weeks ahead. RRI announced the official 2026 Kodi schedule on 21 January 2026; Indahnesia.id lists the 2026 window as 15 February to 15 March. Any 2027 date is a projection.
- No invented reviews, ratings, awards or guarantees. Unverifiable credentials stay off the page.
- Advice is travel advice. Health notes (Hepatitis A, typhoid and tetanus protection is recommended) and drone rules (15 km from airports, 30 m from people, daylight only, never over villages or ritual grounds, per January 2026 guidance) are for planning, not legal or medical opinion.
How does booking work?
- Send the brief. Dates, party size, preferred regions, lodge shortlist, and any lodge already booked.
- Receive a day-by-day draft. Region sequence, vehicle tier, lodge options and the land-only figure, usually within two working days.
- Lodges are verified. Each property confirms availability and rate; only then does the quote show an itemised total.
- Confirm with a deposit. Terms are printed on the quote; nothing is held without them.
- Pre-departure brief. Flight advisory, packing and health notes, drone rules, and your guide’s name and number.

Does Sumba Luxury Tour own NIHI Sumba, Lelewatu or Cap Karoso?
No. NIHI Sumba, Lelewatu, Cap Karoso and Maringi Eco Resort are independent, separately licensed properties with no ownership, affiliation or endorsement link to this site. We sequence nights at them inside a guided circuit, confirm availability per booking, and bill each night at the property’s tariff plus tax and service.
Can I book only the guide and 4×4 if my lodge is already reserved?
Yes. Land-only circuits are the base product; land-only quotes already exclude lodge nights. Tell the reservations team where you are staying and when; the itinerary is built around those check-ins, with pick-up and drop-off at the lodge gate.
Why is the total price of a Sumba luxury tour quoted rather than listed?
Two variables sit outside our control: lodge rates, set by each property and changing by season, and levies such as the reported 10% accommodation tourism levy effective 1 January 2026. Listing a total would mean guessing. The written quote itemises land price, verified lodge nights, taxes and fees.
What happens if Pasola dates move after I have booked?
Pasola dates are usually confirmed only one to two weeks ahead, so Pasola circuits are built with a flexible middle. If a village date shifts, the guide re-orders the days; if it falls outside your stay, that day converts to another experience. Lodge change policies remain each property’s own.
