Sumba Luxury Tour 3 Days: 3D2N West Sumba Circuit

One rule: no repositioning. You check in once, and the same private driver-guide and 4×4 stay with you from airport to airport. Day 2 is the working day: the guide carries the Lapopu park permits and, at Praijing, handles the customary greeting to the elders and the entry contribution. At NIHI Sumba the resort runs its own equine programme with its stable of sandalwood horses, so the ride is booked through the resort and charged on the lodge folio. At Lelewatu, the ride is arranged through vetted licensed partners on the Wanokaka beaches and sits on the land-only quote.

Both sit in Wanokaka, West Sumba. Sumba Luxury Tour does not own or operate either property; hotels are accommodation options, not partners, and availability is subject to confirmation. Either way the lodge is booked at its published rate, never folded into the land-only figure, and Indonesia Juara Trip’s reservations team passes the property’s confirmation back before anything is paid.

Honest answer: guiding is quoted per person, lodge nights per room, and the total is only a total once both are confirmed. Reference points as of August 2026, moving with season and group size: Outside the table: a roughly 10% accommodation-based tourism levy reported effective 1 January 2026 (lodge folio where applied). Any total for a 3D2N with a named resort is a quote until reservations has verified the lodge nights.

Included:

• Park permits for Lapopu and the Praijing entry contribution

• Two lodge nights at published tariff plus tax and service
• Flights Bali-Tambolaka (Wings Air and NAM Air fly daily, around 90 minutes; schedules change and are confirmed at booking)
• NIHI’s own equine programme, charged by the resort
• Airport tourist tax, personal spending, travel insurance

Hepatitis A, typhoid and tetanus protection is recommended; recreational drones (guidance updated January 2026) may never fly over villages or ritual grounds, Praijing included.

The dry season from May to October gives the most reliable Lapopu path and the clearest sunsets on the Wanokaka coast. The mid-February to mid-March Pasola window is the other prime slot; Wanokaka and Lamboya usually fall in February, which puts the ritual on the doorstep of both lodges. The catch is timing. Pasola dates are set by Rato ritual priests after the Nyale sea-worm readings and are typically confirmed only one to two weeks ahead, so a 3D2N pegged to Pasola needs flexible flights and a lodge willing to hold a tentative booking. Reservations will say plainly whether that is possible for your dates.

1. Check dates. Send dates and party size on WhatsApp; the concierge confirms the 3D2N fits your flights and which lodge has nights.
2. Receive the split quote. Two lines: land-only guiding per person, and lodge nights at published tariff plus tax and service. Nothing is blended.
3. Lodge verification. Indonesia Juara Trip reservations requests the two nights and forwards the property’s written confirmation. Only then is the total a total.
4. Deposit and itinerary. A deposit secures guide and vehicle; you receive the day sheet with pickup times and ride slot.
5. Arrival. Your guide meets you at Tambolaka with a name board and the cooler box stocked.
